About Karl LeFong

Close Up Focused

KLFG is a close up event, leave your stage props in the garage and bring what you can fit in your bag next to your close up mat!

One Day Event

One day a year KLFG doesn’t cost an arm and leg to attend. But the day is cram packed with content from both speakers and attendees!

Invite Only

To attend KLFG you have to be nominated by an attendee, submit an audition video, as well as perform at your first conference!

Sessioning

So much can be learned from our dedicated cohort as well as our speakers, so come ready to session the night before and on the day!

Unique Speakers

We hand pick some unique speakers each year to come and present their thoughts on magic. Keep your eyes out for announcements!

Limited to 52

Each KLFG is limited to 52 attendees, that includes speakers and organisers. This small event keeps the session the focus!

Karl LeFong

The Karl LeFong Gathering (KLFG) is Scotland’s premier close-up magic conference. Designed as an attendee-first event, the format blends structured talks with open sessioning throughout the day, encouraging real exchange rather than passive listening.

We take pride in having a collaborative and generous attendee list. Each year our newbies are asked to perform at the start of the day – pretty nerve wracking given the calibre in the room. But everyone is there to see each other succeed, the room encourages rather than challenges our first-timers.

And the generosity doesn’t stop there, for the last few years later in the day we have invited anyone who wishes to get up and share something. The magic we have seen in this segment of the day is always novel, interesting and invites even more conversation.

KLFG exists to push close-up magic forward. Attendees share ideas, techniques, and hard-earned insights. It is a space for constructive discussion, experimentation, and skill development. This is not a place for ego.
